The Sunday Standard, our in-house line of skincare, body care, and wellness products, was launched in 2018 in response to our shop founder Emma's desire to create the skincare line she'd always dreamed of - one that would help to heal her painful, cystic acne at a cellular level, rather than simply minimize her current breakout while she waited for the next one to (inevitably) appear.

Formulated to provide the skin with the nutrients it needs to function optimally, and without the use of harsh hormone-disrupting ingredients, The Sunday Standard offers products that work to support the skin's lipid barrier, normalize the skin's natural oil production, reduce the occurrence of active breakouts, minimize and fade blemishes, and support healthy skin aging.

Our products are formulated with breakout-prone skin in mind, but work wonderfully to support healthy skin of all types through our gentle, non-comedogenic oil-based skincare system.

The Sunday Standard products are produced weekly in small-batches at our Chicago-based cosmetics studio, located behind our Armitage Avenue storefront.

Magic!

This is my first time reviewing anything. I had to write one because this oil is *unbelievable*. I'm 30 with combo skin and hormonal breakouts on/along my chin and breakout easily elsewhere. A couple years ago I started taking skincare seriously and have invested a lot in high end skincare products from other "clean" brands. They helped, but NOTHING has been as transformative as this oil and other products in the Sunday Standard line. Overnight, acne scars are disappearing before my eyes and my skin is looking and feeling more moisturized and balanced. Within a week of using this oil at night I was amazed by the transformation in my skin. Thank you Sunday Standard, I really hope you never stop making your products!

Couldn’t get over the smell

I tried this once and I will say I immediately noticed my skin looking more even toned and glowy. However, I just couldn’t get over the smell when trying to go to bed and had to rinse it off. I saw another comment that the smell has changed to floral, but mine definitely was not floral.

Seems to do wonders for dry skin, but the smell is very challenging.

I received this as part of the sample set yesterday and was *so very* excited to try this restoring oil, as I have only had good experiences with products containing rosehip and sea buckthorn in the past. The oil is rich and seemed to absorb into my skin very quickly, leaving my skin looking glowy and supple. Unfortunately, the smell of the oil was so unpleasant that I had to wash my face again to get relief from it - repeating my night time skin care routine and ending with a different facial oil. It's so unfortunate, because I could see the benefits of the product almost immediately upon using it, but the smell was so distracting that I knew I wouldn't get good rest if I had to smell it on my face all night. I even layered on a second facial oil in an attempt to cover the smell, but it didn't seem to help so I gave up and washed it off.

I look forward to using the remainder of my sample kit and will continue to keep up with this product in hopes that a different formulation, with a more pleasant scent, will be available in the future. I really wanted to love this product.
